A unique training and competition opportunity for Bulgarian sushi chefs, and an extraordinary showcase for New Kenji, the Mundi Riso premium sushi rice brand.
From the 7th to the 9th of October 2024, in the city of Sofia, we participated as sponsors in the Bulgarian Sushi Cup 2024, the event designed to select the Bulgarian representative for the finals of the Sushi World Cup 2025, which will take place in Tokyo.
In the first phase, participants had the opportunity to learn the secrets of Japanese culinary art from the most renowned masters in the world and were gifted with the top of our product line, New Kenji Premium Sushi Rice.
The second part of the event saw the contestants compete in the actual competition: a high-level challenge where precision, cleanliness of work, hand movements, fish cutting, and creativity were judged by an exceptional panel, chaired by Hirotoshi Ogawa, president of the Japan Sushi Association and the World Institute of Sushi Skills, accompanied by Alon Than, Iulian Constantin, and Tomas Lysy.
The Bulgarian session of the Sushi Cup was won by Martin Vladimirov, followed by Emil Dimchev in second place and Ivaylo Donov in third. However, many other countries still need to choose their representative chef. Mundi Riso, with its brand New Kenji, will follow the next national competitions too, thus consolidating the positioning of its 100% Italian sushi rice, synonymous with quality and high standard in the world.
