Around the world, competitions continue to determine the best national sushi chefs. From the 18th to the 20th of March, it’s the turn of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, competing together in a single event held in the Norwegian city of Lillestrøm.
A variety of activities are on the schedule, from the certification course for the “Black Belt” qualification to the main competition, where 12 non-Japanese sushi chefs will compete for the coveted chance to participate in the world finals of the Sushi World Cup 2025 in Tokyo.
As always, the highest level of quality, professionalism and skill is expected from the participants, who will be judged on precision, creativity, presentation and taste by a meticulous jury. The panel is chaired by sushi master Gentaro Yamazaki, representing the World Institute of Sushi Skills, and includes renowned judges such as Vladimir Pak, Sergey Pak and Eric Ticana.
