“Recycle & Wear”: the runway show by Mundi Riso and Ipsia

From the fields to the runway, rice took center stage at a special event titled “RECYCLE & WEAR”, organized by Ipsia Francis Lombardi professional institute in Vercelli in collaboration with the rice company Mundi Riso.

Held on Friday, April the 11th, the event was a celebration of creative reuse, involving around twenty students from the Fashion System course, along with a group of employees from the historic rice mill. Together, they brought to life a real fashion show featuring garments made from rice packaging materials.

Divided into four teams, participants unleashed their creativity, combining the students’ skills in fashion design and garment making – part of the “Industry and Craftsmanship for Made in Italy” curriculum – with the expertise of Mundi Riso employees regarding the materials used.

The final creations, showcased on a runway set up in the school hallway, impressed and convinced a jury made up of teachers, Mundi Riso representatives, members of the Iren Group and fashion industry professionals. There were also fun moments, including the reveal of mascots designed by each team.

After awarding prizes for Best Mascot, Best Outfit, Best Presentation, Best Runway Presence and Best Recycling, Mundi Riso also presented the Ipsia Francis Lombardi Institute with a €1,500 donation.
